Microarray Center Drosophila Slides

The Drosophila melanogaster arrays contain 14,600 genes and the oligos were purchased from Operon. They are arrayed in duplicate on our slides. Included on the slide are the Stratagene Alien oligo controls as well as an Operon control plate. For a list of genes please see the Drosophila Gene List.

Cost for Drosophila Slides:
UI Biology Department: $70 per slide.
Outside the Department: $80 per slide.
Outside the Univ. of Iowa: $90 per slide.
Comparison of Drosophila melanogaster arrays

Drosophila melanogaster oligo slides hybridized with processed RNA derived from wild type and a mutant line. On the left the wild type is labeled in green and mutant is labeled in red. On the right is a second slide with dye swapped samples, with wild type labeled in red and mutant labeled in green. Circles indicate examples of the many differentially expressed genes supported in both technical replicates.

Example of Drosophila melanogaster arrays

Left (1 µg) and right (100 ng) of total RNA processed with the Ambion Amino Allyl MessageAmp™ aRNA Kit hybridized to our Drosophila melanogaster oligo slides.
