Sequencing Center Accessing Results

In order to access your sequences and for do-it-yourself users to sign up to use the 3100, you must have a login. This login and a password will allow access to the calendar sign-up program and a specific folder with your results. I will provide you with the login information after your first sequencing submission. To begin sequencing simply prepare your template as outlined above and submit. I will contact for additional information, if needed.

The webpage for the Carver Genomics Center has been updated to allow you to download your sequences. When the sequencing run is complete I will place your sequences in your web folder. Please use the following instructions to access your results.

When I upload a file to your account you will automatically receive an email stating that your results are ready. Either follow the link in the email to the site or access your account via the Carver Center webpage index.htm. Here you can click on login on the menu bar.

Login with the username and password that have been provided to you. This is case sensitive so make sure you use lowercase letters. I can change your password if this is needed.

The method of downloading depends on the browser you use. For most PCs you can left click and you will get the option to save the file to a folder. Do this. If the left click doesn't work then right click and select Save As.

The following works for Internet Explorer but I have not been able to successfully download files with Netscape on a Mac. For Macs if clicking doesn't give you the option to save the file then try Ctrl-Click to save or download the file. Previously I was translating the files to a Mac format however on most machines the files extensions were messed up by the time they got to the user. I will no longer be translating the files before sending them out. I have installed on most Mac user's computer the software to translate the files to Mac format. So when downloading, save the files in a folder. Then use the Win-to-Mac translation program and choose the folder. This will translate the extension and will give the files a new icon. This takes only seconds. These files will open in Sequencher and Editview. Please contact me with any questions or if you need the translation software.
